2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

TEACHING [Past posts below]
This Sunday I spoke on the verses for the Mass for 9–23–18 [By mistake] I talked about the passage from Paul and how it led me to John 17-
2Thessalonians 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes- it sounds strange that we would also share in the ‘glory’ of the Lord himself.
The verse from John’s gospel came to my mind-
John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
How do we- as people- share in Christ’s glory?
To receive glory- is to receive honor- and the next passage from the reading talks about the corrupt nature of man- to want this honor- this high place- apart from the prescribed path-
Mark 9:30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
Mark 9:32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Mark 9:33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
Mark 9:34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
Mark 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Mark 9:36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
Mark 9:37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
Jesus just got done telling his men that he would be killed- and rise again.
The bible tells us ‘they did not understand this’.
Not only did they not ‘understand’ the actual reality that Jesus would die and rise again- but they also did not yet know that to be joined with Christ- in his ‘glory’ would require a Cross experience.
To reign with him- we must first die- suffer- with him-
2 Timothy 2:12
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

The argument the disciples had- right after the statement Jesus made about his death and resurrection- was an argument- a debate- about which one of the disciples would be the greatest.
Jesus takes a child and shows them to be great- is to be humble.
I quoted a passage from Philippians that shows us this-
Philipians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philipians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Philipians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Philipians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Philipians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Yes- if we have the mind of Christ- the humility of Christ- then God will use us.
When God uses us- he is glorified thru us- thru making manifest his works in us.
When we share in the glory of the Lord- we walk in unity and submission to the will of the Father.
And it is this act of obedience- to die to self daily- that God receives glory.
And yes- the scripture from John becomes a reality-
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
It is the key to being a witness to all nations.
The passage from James [also taught on the video] shows us how we reveal the wisdom of God-
James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
James 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Thru works of mercy- the humble mind- the willingness to honor others before ourselves.
And it is in this willingness to lay down our rights- that we share in the glory of the Lord- he himself gave us the example-
24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. [Some sites see here https://corpuschristioutreachministries.blogspot.com/2023/01/sunday-sermon-text_29.html?m=0 ]
